He was helping his father install a new window when the window fell and shattered. Oscar suffered lacerations on his left hand, left arm, and left leg. PROCEDURE: The patient was placed on the table in supine position. Satisfactory anesthesia was obtained. The area was prepped, and attention to the deeper laceration of the left thigh, right above the patella, was first. A layered closure was performed, and the 5.1-cm laceration was closed successfully with sutures. The lacerations on the upper extremity, a 2-cm laceration on the left hand at the base of the fifth metacarpal and the 3-cm laceration on the left arm, just below the joint capsule in the posterior position, were successfully closed with 4-0 Vicryl, as well. The patient tolerated the procedures well and was transported to the recovery room.
