You should know: Group B strep positive; previous shoulder dystocia and C/S delivery for my first delivery, postpartum hemorrhage with second delivery I’m planning to have: A vaginal delivery after history of C/S DURING LABOR I would/would not like to move around freely Would I would like continuous fetal monitoring: No I want to be unattached at all times I would like to use these birthing tools: Birthing pool, birthing ball, shower. Allow entire family in birthing pool for family delivery I would like to use these pain medications: No IV morphine IM every 3 hours I would NOT like to use these pain medications: Narcotics or epidural or spinal I will be bringing: A portable speaker and aromatherapy oils; I would like to dim the lights and listen to music until I begin the transition phase of labor Person/people joining me in delivery room: My husband Joe and my 3 and 4 year old. 4 year old to cut the cord. 3 year old to bathe baby with little assistance We will/will not be taking photos and/or recording video: Will (both) DURING THE DELIVERY Please do not use the following interventions unless medically urgent or necessary: Pitocin, episiotomy, amniotic sac rupture, membrane stripping, cesarean section, forceps, vacuum, oxygen I would/would not like to try alternative birthing positions like squatting, lying on my side, getting on my hands and knees, or using a birthing ball or stool: Would I would/would not like to reach down and touch my baby’s head as it’s crowning or look in a mirror to see the baby’s head emerging: Would and I prefer my husband to assist with delivering head of baby and place on my chest
