Please help me respond to this post with citation. Usability is defined as “Specific issues of human performance in achieving specific goals during computer interactions within a particular context” (Hebda et al, 2019 pg. 453). Usability issues can result in decrease in productivity, errors, treatment and decision delays, frustration, underutilization, deinstallations, need for extra support to install and maintain systems, covert and overt resistance to applications, and can cause need for substantial funding to redesign and remedy problems (Hebda et al, 2019). Recent studies have found that problems with usability also lead to poor workflow and can have potential negative impacts on patient safety and outcomes (Caraton & Hoonakker, 2019). Usability is defined by five quality components: learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors, and satisfaction (Kaminski, 2020). Learnability refers to how easy it is for users to use and learn the basic tasks (Kaminski, 2020). Efficiency is how quickly after learning the design can they perform tasks (Kaminski, 2020). Memorability refers to if a user if gone for a period of time, how long does it take them to reestablish proficiency in the design (Kaminski, 2020). Errors, refers to how many errors are made, and how severe are they (Kaminski, 2020) And lastly, satisfaction, how much is the design liked, or how useful is the system (Kaminski, 2020). These components mentioned are imperative for a successful implementation of a health information system. Survey questions: Efficiency – Does the system allow for efficient, clear documentation that is easy to find for any health care worker? Errors- Does the system have clear error messages and alerts to allow for patient safety? Hebda, T., Hunter, K., & Czar, P. (2019).
