Can you please help me reply to a classmates discussion post. The was – What is your reaction to change in your personal history? What personal tools do you implement to help yourself navigate change? students answer was- In my personal life, I try to embrace change. I have experienced change in marriage, family, careers, jobs, and more. I have left behind friends, gained family, and lost colleagues. Each experience has changed the expectation of what life was supposed to be. Many were abrupt, unmanageable changes, in which I was lost in emotion. Some were planned, whether quickly or in depth, and they still caused anxiety when implemented. I have changed careers, going back to school to become a nurse (an abrupt change), then going back again as I learn to transition into administration. With each of these have come a much larger set of changes which became a part of the process. I have learned to lean on those around me, to find guidance from others that have made these transitions before me, and build a team of supporters. I have learned to plan better, and involve those around me that are affected, trying to implement outside ideas and viewpoints. I have learned to recognize which changes are most important, and when they need changed. Most of all, I have learned to lean on the Lord, pray, and wait on Him. It is because of my faith that I am not afraid of the changes, but embrace them as a part of His guidance and His will. It is a part of His plan that we all experience change. I think Max Lucado (2012) stated this best, “God loves you just the way you are, but He refuses to leave you that way. He wants you to be just like Jesus.” Max Lucado (2012).
