When it comes to nursing and the specific areas of nursing, I find Urology and Gynecology most interesting. I have experience in Gynecology for personal reasons, and experience in specifically women’s Urology when I worked at a clinic a few years ago. Now do not get me wrong, both men and women are interesting, but I find women’s bodies more fascinating. When I worked at the Urology clinic, I was amazed at all the different procedures women could get done in order to tighten their vaginas (perineoplasty and vaginoplasty), the different tools and techniques to help with their prolapses, and I was able to see both labiaplasties, and clitoral hood reductions in person. IT WAS AMAZING! I would love to be able to pursue this area of nursing again, because everything is hands on. I absolutely loved being able to help prep the patient with Iodine and Lidocaine before getting their bladders scoped, releasing a patients bladder pain by catharizing them, and just building friendships with the patients you have come in and out of the clinic.
