I was working on the ambulance when

I was working on the ambulance when it was first pronounced as a serious problem. We were told to stay 6 feet away, even from our partners. Which was honestly hard while we were in the truck. We were told to not intubate or even use king airways on patients. We could not give any breathing treatments to patients with covid symptoms. I had to sit for hours, sometimes 7-8 or more, with patients in the back of the truck while wearing full PPE just because we were overrun in the hospital. They had no beds for these patients. I wore my N95 out in public. I even bought my son his own. I distanced myself from my grandparents and even my mother because they were high risk. I carried gallons of water with me at all times just so I could wash my hands with actual soap and water. There was even a moment in time that I sent my son to stay with my husbands grandma because he and I both worked in public safety and we were around it too much. I would come home, take my uniform off on my front porch, go directly to the washer and throw them in and jump in the shower myself before I ever went around anyone. I was a very cautious person and even though I am not as cautious as I was, I still take precautions just to keep myself and my family healthy.
