DISCUSSION REPONSE- ON Social determinants of health bring forth a lot of debate on resolutions to the problems. However, I feel that no single suggestion can bring forth the answer. Throughout the country and the world, the different social determinants can have heavier weight than others depending on the region. For instance, in one part of a rural county in West Virginia, there are still residents who do not have indoor plumbing or access to public water, causing these residents to bring their own water containers to the side of a busy, curvy main road to collect water as it flows off the mountain side near coal mines. One may think that these individuals are extremely poor, but in reality some are not. They have financial means and transportation, but due to the location of their homes, the state and federal government have not seen a priority to develop access to public water tie ins. In order to improve primary care in the diverse communities, team work must take precedence. These communities have diverse cultures, minorities, and varying social determinants that contribute the well-being of their citizens.
