26-year-old female presents to ER CHIEF COMPLAINT: Patient is 9 weeks pregnant and experiencing pain and pressure in her lower abdomen and bleeding heavily from the vagina. CONSTITUTIONAL: Ht 5’5, Wt 132, BP 85/65, Temp 96.9, HR 107 ABPM, Patient appears confused and restless. HEENT: PEERL. Normocephalic. External auditory canals and tympanic membranes clear, hearing grossly intact. No nasal drainage. Neck supple, non-tender, no masses. LUNGS: Clear to auscultation. ABDOMEN: Soft, distended and tender. No masses detected. SKIN: Cool and pale. GYN: No fetal heart rate detected. DIAGNOSTIC: Ultrasound confirms incomplete abortion. Nasal swab positive for MRSA.
